Alabama Code § 19-3B-302

Representation by Holder of Power of Appointment

(a) The holder of a lifetime power to appoint to oneself may represent and bind all persons whose interests are subject to the power, including but without limitation, permissible appointees and takers in default. (b) To the extent that there is no conflict of interest between the holder of a power of appointment, other than a power enumerated in subsection (a), and the persons represented with respect to the particular question or dispute, the holder may represent and bind persons whose interests, as permissible appointees, takers in default, or otherwise, are subject to the power.
