(a) Leave of absence for a period of one year for good cause may be granted to an employee by an employer without impairing the tenured or nonprobationary status of the employee. For valid reason, the employer may extend the leave of absence for one additional year. (b) Leave of absence for military service shall be as provided in Section 31-2-13.
