Criminal Impersonation

(a) A person commits the crime of criminal impersonation if he: (1) Assumes a false identity and does an act in his assumed character with intent to gain an economic benefit for himself or another or to injure or defraud another; or (2) Pretends to be a representative of some person or organization and does an act in his pretended capacity with intent to gain an economic benefit for himself or another or to injure or defraud another. (b) Criminal impersonation is a Class B misdemeanor.
