Perjury in the Second Degree

(a) A person commits the crime of perjury in the second degree if he or she does either of the following: (1) Swears with intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of the public servant’s duty and his or her false statement is material to the action, proceeding , or matter involved. (2) Knowingly presents a false document purporting to be a lease agreement, deed, or other instrument conveying or providing a right to or in real property to another person with the intent to civilly detain or to remain upon the real property. (b) Perjury in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
