(a) The official bond of the register of the circuit court shall in no case be less than $5,000.00. (b) The circuit judge, whenever the public interests demand, shall require of such register an additional bond; and, on failure to give the same within the time fixed by the circuit judge therefor, the circuit judge shall remove him from office. Such additional bond shall be approved, filed and recorded as the first official bond.
