FLAUM, Circuit Judge. On July 6, 1992, Laidlaw Waste Systems (“Laidlaw”) terminated Lambert Brzostow-ski’s employment. Three months later, Brzostowski filed suit in Illinois state court, alleging that Laidlaw discharged him in violation of his employment contract.
