OPINION BENAVIDES, Judge. This is a direct appeal in a capital murder ease. Late one evening in March of 1989 Appellant forced his way into the apartment of Loretta Stephens, an elderly Lame-sa woman, stole money from her bedroom while she slept, beat her with his fists, suffocated her with a pillow, and raped her dying body.
